I don't think there's really an end-all thread. Maybe the "Any Marines in the House" thread in OT.

I'm going to go be a Marine and I ship out on June 24 for sunny San Diego. I've already passed all the entrance tests and requirements and all I have to do now is pay off all the debts I owe to the government, i.e. speeding tickets, etc.

Marine recruit training is 13 weeks long and then I'll be back in town for ten days at the beginning of October. After that, it's three weeks of combat training at Camp Pendleton, just north of Oceanside, CA. After that, I go to school for my Legal and Administration MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) and then I get stationed God-knows-where.

Directly after that, I apply for a Navy ROTC scholarship and return to Texas A&M to finish what I started with my Mechanical Engineering degree four years ago. I'll go through the ROTC program there and, upon graduation and receipt of my degree, I'll be a commissioned Marine officer for a period of four years or longer.

The only unsure part is whether or not I'll actually be awarded the scholarship. I'm thinking positive, though.
