I understand that this may be like asking some of you who your favorite dentist is, but having recently purchased a 2000 SVT, I was wondering if there is a particular Ford dealer in the DFW area someone could recommend in the event I ever need service.
I would prefer an independent mechanic but am afraid of voiding the warranty prior to its expiration. I live in North Dallas and work in Carrollton (Lee Jarmon Ford is right down the road). BTW, love the car.

I've only had mine long enough for one oil change...I went to Middlekauf and wasn't really impressed. I just know they do a lot of SVT/Rouch/Saleen type stuff, so I thought they may take more of an interest in my car. I'm kind of up for a suggestion also.

And congrats on the purchase and welcome to the Dallas group. And don't mind Infuryum, he's just bitter cause he's slow. laugh

I don't know how far you are willing to go but I had good experience with Family Tire and Service in Grapevine. They are at the intersection of Northwest Highway and Dove Road. I had them do some work on my car when I was down there for the summer (new clutch and turn the rotors) and they seemed to do a pretty good business. If you call them, ask for Scott. Tell him Dan sent you. He's the owner/chief mechanic. Stand up guy, will let you know exactly what is going on and will even let you watch in the bay while they are working on it (something that I have found rare these days). Don't have their number off hand but look it up in the yellow pages online. If you tell him what kind of car you have, you might remember me. Let me know if you need any more help.

Go to John Eagle Lincoln Mercury. Ask for David Cainey.I know they aren't SVT certified, but it's just a Contour smile

They where great with my Contour when I had them change the alternator. I'm going to have them do about 4 recall items in the next month or so.

Welcome to the group!

DO NOT GO TO LEE JARMON!! I never found a good place.. Took Westway Ford about three times to fix it right.. But Lee Jarmon messed more things up than i would have imagined...

It's out of the way for you (way out of the way), but I've been treated very well by Skyline Ford in East Dallas.

Bankston Ford in Frisco might be a good choice. They do some some nice stuff for the SVTOA (which meets there).

What color and what build # is your SVT?

To all who have taken the time to respond, many thanks smile. Sounds like I need to stay the heck away from Lee Jarmon which was what my gut was telling me anyway. I've owned the car since early November and have nothing but good things to say about it. Convinced my brother in Philly to buy one too.

DO NOT take it to Bankston or else you risk getting labeled as a local SVTTEXAS.com member and get taken advantage of. We (SVT Club of North Texas) had a not so pleasant break from them within the last week. Of all the dealerships in the Dallas area, I agree with Chris.....John Eagle Lincoln Mercury. And yes Chris...they DO have two authorized SVT mechanics there. You should ask for Sonny Morgan. He is the SVT rep for the dealership. He is the one that started the North Texas Cobra Club which is now known as the SVT Club of North Texas. We just moved to John Eagle LM this past weekend. If you are interested in joining that club as well, send me an email: SVTcop@aol.com .
