Went over to a family friend's house, and he's got a WRX with a short throw shifter installed. He took me for a ride... then pulled over and said "here ya go". Holy geez. I couldn't breath. This car is so damn fast, and it corners like its on rails. It was wierd driving a car with boost, as I wasn't used to the turbo lag... but once that boost get up there, look out.

Then I took the guy for a ride in my car, and the first thing he noticed (and liked very much) was the sound the Duratec and SVT exhaust. The WRX was so quiet! While driving my car, we ran across a Ferrari 355F1, which sounded increadible. We chased him around a little bit, then he pulled into his driveway, and I let him drive my car. He got in and noted the difference in response time for power, but then also mentioned that my car feels like a boat with how much it floats around the corners. I agreed with him after understanding that his daily driver is the WRX. I am now in love with power. All I want is more, and now its ever harder to wait till I buy a Supra when I graduate.

A local ex-CEGer gave me a ride in his (traded his Mystique). WOW! Fast, sounds good, handles well too. A great car.

i ran into a 355 down here too! it sounds like a cop siren/pidgeon/deep gargle combined... and the wrx is an amazing car, but i have never seen one with a manual transmission. all that genious engnineering put to waste by auto.....so sad..

Odd, I felt quite the opposite, the WRX felt real floaty in corners. I talked to other WRX owners, and they said this is the norm - The car will stick to the road, but the feeling is disconcerting to say the least. But the power was nice, the seats were great, and the look was growing on me slowly.
