I think it may be time for banner ads....
I know lance does not want to do this and it is his site. But, it would give CEG some money and also show some of the products that are available for our cars
ps..I'd pay, donate, whatever as long a CEG stays around

i think it would stop new members from showing up, and people would go to that other contour site. fordcontour.org or .net.
when was first looking for some help, i first found cta motorsports. then from there i got a link here. and if i had to pay here forsomething i would have not joined.
i say there should be a banner, up at the top. and people just click on it once a day. and that will provide alot of money for lance. i think its like 30 cents a click not sure might be like 5 cents) 30* 1000 (people on here a day on average maybe more) that is like 300 dollars a day, that more then enought to run the site for 1 day. 300*30 days a month that would be like 9000 dollars.
and if its only 5 cents 5*1000 = 50 dollars 50 * 30 = 1500 dollars a month.
i think that would be enough odnt u guys.

Same problem as memberships, though... You sell advertising, you must be a business, pay taxes, etc, etc. I'm not willing to do that.

A self proprietorship is very easy to operate. Keep reciepts, keep invoices, total it all up at the end of the year and turn them in with your own personal earnings. You'd even get to purchase some cool equipment for the site that's tax deductable as an operating cost. With all of the people on this site making a few bucks, HMS, BNM, HPP, SP, BAT, Performance Fords, etc, I'd be really surprized if Lance didn't get an offer to buy out the CEG to operate. At the very least we'd all band together to keep it going.
Simply going to another site starts the problems all over again with a different URL. The point remains that if we want this site to function, we need to all chip in somehow.

Has anybody looked up what it would cost for themself to get a t1 line installed (and per month cost) or maybe higher speed DSL if that would work for the site?
I can not help here because T1 is still 1K+ a month(dont remember exact figure) out where I live and DSL is not available either.

This site is worth it's weight in gold (Even though those electrons don't weigh much). Whatever is decided, that's what I'll pay. $10-$50, it's easily worth that.

Put all bullsh*t aside and find a price to continue and everyone do there donations and post actual amount minute to minute till we reach the amount for a full year subscription Having a year plan would take less time off of Lance back each month tryig to get donations every month Go for year plan and keep tabs on every donation for things to come in the next year hoping others would contribute Keep it donations but just give us a Goal to reach. And I bet we could easily do it
