I agree, thats what I believe, and my new motor does the same thing, but i dont open it that other 1/2 inch. I believe it may have something to do with the realys that that cut the power in one direction which stops the roof. I think it may even be a safety feature to help the longevity of the roof... Not sure thats just my hunch.
