Can anyone help me out by telling me where I could possibly find a 2.5L Duratec motor around the chicagoland area. I dont want to pay too much because im not even sure if we can get it to work with the Focus but I really want to try. Please let me know if you guys hear of anything.

hey silverfocus, i might have a deal for you on a 2.5L. i might be doing an engine swap very very soon and would love to sell the 2.5 that is in my car right now. the 2.5 would be a great candidate for a rebuild and upgrade. i am perhaps swapping engines because mine has 95k miles on it and the maintenance is getting to be costing too much. PM me and i can tell you the rest o the details. peace.

Well, you can have mine! It seems that a certain Aerostar owner has finally agreed to give me the V-10 from his van... SO, the SVT D-Tech is expendable... wink

EDIT: I really hope that not even a word of this post got you thinking...

On the serious note, why don't you do research first whether the engine can even fit in the first place and then rederect your efforts into finding the motor...

It was done by SVT, but how much effort and fabricated parts will it take?

It's probably not as easy as putting a V8 into a Pinto.

Does it fit- YES
Is it hard- NO

Basically guys I want turbo V6, I know what can be done with the Focus I mean my friend is running 14s all motor, and another friend is going turbo, while another is supercharged. Well I am the owner of the first wide body kit for the Focus so I kinda like to do things differently and the only thing for me right now is the Contour SVT swap and im dieing to get a motor.

if your going to turbo the motor, would it not be easier to use a non svt 2.5, for sake of finding parts? would you even need an svt if your going turbo anyway?

what about a 3.0? theres tons of those around for sure, same block as the 2.5, should fit fine. May have a lower compression than an svt motor, makes it easier to run more boost.

just a few suggestions/ideas is all.
