It's cheaper for me this way, working at Wal-Mart doesn't exactly pay the best... So he wanted to keep the insurance company out of it... I'll try to talk him into turning it into the insurance company, just tell them he was driving...
Um, just so you know, if the car is in his name and it's on his insurance, if he gives you permission to drive it, you are also covered by his insurance...

Well, if the insurance won't cover your damage after hitting the deer, do you really carry the state's minimum liability coverage? I dunno, just don't get in an accident with me. wink (Says the guy who is 27 and married, and his wife's 25th birthday is July 2.)

Or is it just that he doesn't want to risk getting the rates raised. That makes sense to me.

Well.. I don't know about VA.. but TX policy states:

Any person over the age of 18, who is driving your vehicle at the time of any accident, with your permission, is covered as fully as you are. This is true, with the provision that said person is not living at the same physical street address as you.

i.e. My father could let me drive as long as I didn't live in the same house, and I was covered, even though I wasn't on the policy..

Thast funny, I hit a deer too a while back in my car! I know how it goes, because you can't go to court and sue a deer! And mine was gonna be expensive too like yours, so I just had insurance fix it for the price of the $500 deductable. Just make sure they put a factory Ford hood on it, because at first, they tried to jew me with an aftermarket hood, and two weeks later (while closing my hood) my PALM made a dent in that piece o crap hood as I popped it shut! So I made them put a REAL Ford hood back onto it after that happened. Boy, they kicked up a stink too about that. I had to really pry them hard to get justice! In the future, you just need remember that we live in a physical world (with 'laws'), and you must remeber to watch more carefully while driving at night, and a set of 4100k xenon lights (not the super purple ones) really does wonders to help see those obstacles at higher speeds. I take it you live up north?
