Your rates can't go up from a comprehensive claim. Hitting a deer is considered like a tornado, or a falling rock or a flood or something. It's just a natural phenomenon that you can't avoid. My insurance didn't go up at all.
Also, I would think you are covered, because most parents plans include their kids on it while they live at home, unless they specifically state otherwise. One way to find out for SURE is to read the policy terms (if you still got in the filing cabinet), or else you can make a simple 5 min. phonecall to the Claims Dept. and ask. Your rates can't go up just for asking:)
