You can choose your class, as long as you meet the critria of the class (for example: all employees of a business that sells 12v must compete Pro or higher). Once you are in a class, moving around is frowned upon unless something has changed (more or less power, got a job that automatically makes you pro, etc.). Also, once you compete as an Amatuer you cannot go down to Novice.
