The 1998's were not that different than the 95's to call it a 'new generation'.technically the Mk1 Mondeos were sold from 1993 to 1997, Mk2 from 1998 to 2000, and Mk3 from 2001 to present.
i know there might not be THAT many differences mechanically, but the cars look different. And i think VCT was introduced for the Zetec in 1998.
And the SVT made its debut in 1998, that gotta account for something!
