Take the class, I was in court one day for a battery charge in the Skokie Courthouse and I heard a lady judge tell someone that the police arent required to show you the gun, and she she said she wanted a court date the judge said "Are you sure you want to argue with Laser Technology" Pay the $95.00, take the class and keep it off your record.

Pay the $75, ask for supervision, and don't get a ticket for 3 months. I got a similar ticket (75 in a 55 for keeping up with traffic in the fast lane!). Actually, you probably don't have to go to court.

Almost every ticket I have gotten I had to go to court. 1 for 83 in a 55, 1 for 100 in a 55, 1 for 51 in a 35, 2 for disobeying a traffic signal. Other tickets I didn't have to go to court for was a seat belt ticket, a ticket for neons on my car, and a sound system ticket (don't know what exactly it is called in legal terms).

Know they feeling just paid a speeding ticket he said i was going 79 ina 65 doubt that casue i had cruise control on and it ia always set at limits. He said he clocked me at 79. And he was only gonna give me 30 days to pay it.1st speeding ticket. And over 100 dollars. I presonaly think it is useless to go to court to fight it cops word over yours anyday. Like they do not lie. I think thats b*llsh*t.

I agree with TheGSRGuy if you have a good driving record with no previous tickets and you don't want to fight it pay the $75. Otherwise you have to take time off work(assuming you work) as time is money.

Well, several misconceptions need to be cleared up here.
First, Dionysus, sorry I didn't see your PM sooner. I haven't been on the net a lot lately, expecting a new baby boy any time now.
Now then....
You can ask all you want to see the radar gun at the time of the offense, but it is entirely up to the officer whether he wants to show it to you or not. Further, I know of no radar gun in existance that will give the officer a "print out". That is simply a myth. No truth in that at all.
dwh gives some good advice...
Pay the fine, ask for court supervision, take a defensive driving course....
rainsdw, what are you on? I don't get docked pay for not showing up at court, I just don't get my extra court pay....

*UPDATE*
I just got back from court this morning. The judge put me on Court Supervision of three months, and I payed $115. Thats a large sum of money. Couple of questions: 1.) How long till I can get another ticket and be eligible for court supervision again? 2.) The judge talked about Colorado being notified of this non-conviction if there is some kind of deal worked out between Colorado and Illinois... what's that mean? 3.) What's a decent, but not too expensive radar detector? Thinking to spend around $100 to $150.

Generally supervision is 90 days unless he says otherwise. The Colorado deal most likely means that if you get a ticket there they can somehow notify IL or something. Get Cobra's 9550 detector for about $140 at Best Buy. I had it, but I upgraded to the Passport 8500. The Cobra is a nice detector though.

Court supervision 90 days??? Everytime I have gotten court supervision it has been for 6 -12 months. About the non-conviction it seems to me that Illinois is just going to notify Colorado that you got a ticket here but weren't convicted. I just bought a Cobra 9110 radar detector from Best Buy for $110. Doesn't talk or anything like the $150 one but it does its job.
