Okay, dont even go there about cops at ground zero! I am from NY, and I know people in the construction industry (specifically, people in the waste hauling part) And for your information, these cops that were supposed to be helping people were helping themselves that whole time! This guy that was hauling waste out of ground zero the day after it happened told me that they were pulling bodies of cops and firemen out of the rubble with Rolex watches, gold and diamond jewlery up and down both arms! These wonderful men and women were STEALING 10's of thousands of dollars in jewlery from the shopping center beneath the WTC while they were still standing! Now, this is not a story about a friend of a friend. I personally talked to the guy that was in the ground zero on the day after this happened. There was also a news report in this in the NY Post. I guarantee you never heard about this, because no one wants the cops and firemen to look bad. Now, I am BY NO MEANS SAYING THAT THIS WAS EVERY COP THERE. But it was certainly not just an isolated case. I have respect for cops, but when they use their badges to make up for a lacking, or abuse their power, I DO have a problem with that. And if the story is correct, and he had no lights or sirens on and he hit you, it is obviously his fault and should not try and blame it on you. Good luck with fighting this!

Hey buddy I have a question for you! Were your little waste hauling buddies joining, or do they not do that kind of thing?? Just a question! Thanks for your support of my story, but I think that the New york/Oklahoma forum needs their crybaby back! And related to cops using their badges to abuse there power, that comment would only come from an ******* who got a speeding ticket or from some prick who was caught with drugs! u=*****!!!!! First of all, where the hell do you think you get off talking to me like that? Your getting so enraged over me telling the truth!?!?! On top of this guy telling me about this, I read about it in the local paper. I have no clue whether they were joining in or not. I dont see where I was being a cry baby, but if thats the way you read it, thats your problem. I happen to personally know 2 cops that abuse their power on a daily damn basis, one of which i was related to. I am not simply bashing all cops. My only point was that everyone is glorifying the police that responded to the site, when there were a good many of them that were crooked. I have also lost someone I knew in the WTC attack. I also know 2 people that made it out, and also my ex-uncle responed to it. For your information I have never been pulled over, or been in trouble with the law, EVER. yeah, hurry up and lock it, someone has a bad opinion of crooked cops!

I am a field technician, so I'm driving all day. In my experience (even before I was a technician), cops can be some of the worst drivers on the road. I don't know if some municipalities cut corners by not optioning squad cars with turn signals, but I am honestly amazed when I see an officer use one. Many times I see squad cars weave in and out of traffic without lights or sirens (or turn signals!!!). Or the ever-amusing flipping on the lights when he/she doesn't want to wait at a red light-- making cross-traffic slam on the brakes or swerve, only to turn them off when he/she clears the intersection. Many times the badge = powertrip and/or immunity to proper driving rules.

Sounds to me like the officer in your story fukked up and is trying to intimidate you (along with his gang of cop-buddies) into taking the blame because he doesn't want to deal with the results. I'm not suprised one bit. If you have even one witness who will back you up, he's screwed big time for knowingly filing a false report. Probably desk-jockey duty for a while, if not termination. He's almost better off just fessing up to hitting you if you think about it.
