Some of you who know me know that I drive a ****box Aerostar. However, yesterday evening I decided to ask my mom if I could borrow her Chevy Lumina to go work out at Balley's! I really didn't feel like driving the Aerostar because she needed a break from racing! So anyway back to what happened. I was coming off the exit ramp by the Allstate Arena at Lee Street and Higgins. I was doing about 35 through the turn and came up to the light which was green. The Cook County Sheriff who was driving by me the whole way up there immediatly slams on his brakes to the left of me and a Des Plaines Police Officer comes flying through the intersection without Lights or Sirens and slams into my mom's Lumina. I really ****ing hate police officers who don't slow down when they are coming through the intersection. I even had my window down because it was such a good day for me. Anyway at the last second I see him a put the brake to the floor. Too late!! I turn right to avoid the officer and BAMM!! We hit and he starts looking all crazy at me like it's my fault for not stoppping. And for those of you who know me know that I will stop anyday of the week for a police officer going to a call or chasing someone because I know the dangers of driving around cars and intersections. So he radios in his accident that he just caused and then seems to go into shock on me. Two minutes later there are 8 sqaud cars and one abulance! WTF!! I sit in my car as instructed by the officer in the cook county car and proceed to call everyone. The officer in the county car takes my info(once again not asking if I'm okay) and gives it to another Des Plaines police officer. I was like okay Phil relax it wasn't your fault. They finally ask me to sign papers saying that I refused medical treatment and I tell the paramedic that they have to offer medical treatment in order for me to refuse. So he offers and I tell him a 700.00 dollar abulance ride would only make my day worse. I finally am allowed to move me car(one hour later) and I am asked to sit in the squad car while they give me paperwork. Then the unthinkable happens! The officer in the car doing the reports puts me as the striking vehicle and tells me that everything wass an accident and that my visor was probally obscured(sp?) by the sheriff's car. I said the I agreed with him that the sheriff's car was in the way, however I thought that police officers are supposed to slow down or at least have a siren or light on. He said I cannot give you the report right know(tonight) becuase I need the other officers information! I said I need something. I wrote every damn licsence plate and name that I had because I am not getting ****ed over by some cop. I had to go back today with my mom to get the completed report and the report still said I was the striking vehicle. Am I ****ed over or what? Totally killed my day! But, I wasn't as hurt as the officer and I know that he's okay now! My mom starting *****ing that the report was incorrect, but I will have to let the courts figure that out if they don't pay for the damage!
Morale of the story: Be safe and expect the unexpected!!!!
Have a safe weekend guys!
