"ok but doesnt the bass come from the bak of the box. i know it does in mine. its wierd like that.

1.)not that i'm aware of....is your box facing the rear of your car(speakers pointed away from the seats) or ported?

2.) the longer a sound wave can travel, the louder and clearer it is. that is why i loose alot of db....because the seat restricts the length of the waves coming out of the speaker. so right now i have to drive with my seats down to hear optimum clarity...however i don't want this to become a normal thing...but because the back of my seats are steel plates and really dampen the amount of sound and quality of my subs, this is what i have to do in order to enjoy them...i'm working w/ a friend of mine and we came up w/ an idea but haven't done it yet...maybe this weekend...

but to answer your question honestly about damaging the subs...i don't think so but i can see why you would think that it would...so now i'm wondering? this was the same setup i used in my other car a few years ago (same subs and amp) and they worked great...so that is why i pointed them towards the seats again....but i'm not sure i'm happy w/ the sound i'm getting.....it varies depending on the type of music....rock and dance sound good because of the punchy or tighter bass. but w/ hip hop, rap and such, it does alright, i can't turn it up as loud b4 i hear distortion in the lows..

any suggestions...not enough power??? because they are 8's???? am i missing something???? the box is as tight as a "virgin in 8th grade" eek ...so i don't think it is an air seepage problem.

anyways i hope my bable was a little informative... confused confused
