I got my first car at 17, for $350. Then sold it a year later, then got a '67 Chevy PU for the same, and drove it until I was 22. My dad didn't own a car until he was 22, and it was a 1953 Plymouth.
I used to get all jealous about kids with nice cars. But, I've learned that how other families conduct themselves is nobody else's business.
