Forgot to add. They did replace the MAF under warranty. I also would not have believed them except the problem (High Idle) started occuring shortly after installing the K&N filter, so over-oiling after a cleaning could be ruled out.
I've had the surging problem with and without the K&N.
rock sniffer: please post again if the problem returns, if not I'll assume the kit worked and I'll get one (if the problem returns knock on wood). Thanks, great find, the surging problem has been one of the most frustrating issues I've ever had with a car.
