True. But to put a turbo on a N/A car requires more than people think. There is a lot of tuning required. Lowering compression ratio etc. But tuning comes into play with everything, engine swaps, superchargers, and nitrous. Just depends on your budget.

all you need is stand-alone engine management to run high boost with high compression. a unit such as Electromotive's TECH II will give you what u need for high boost. there are quite a few hondas running 10-11:1 compression ratios with 10-15psi of boost too, some even with NOS also. so it is possible if you take the right steps.

you have to take into account what the engine internals are make of and what the block is made of too.

Exactly. Connecting rods on our cars are known to break.

thanks ron laugh
running high boost on a high compression motor is asking for trouble, if you ask me. it can be done with proper engine managment, and HIGH octane fuel. Yeah, a turbo'd honda would be nice, but it would make a peaky power curve even more peaky with a turbo. Imagine the lack of low end on a honda combined with a bit of lag, you get the picture.
You dont necisarily have to lower the compression ratio, you can just run lower boost, which means less power, which aint no fun! Those who are thinking/doing the 3.0 mod have the right idea in my opinion, much cheaper, simpler setup, all ford parts, more reliable in the long run.

ya... turbos are nice but none of us know what the reliability will be in the long run. if there were options out there for stronger internals, and maybe a stronger block if pushing a lot of power, then i wouldnt mind doing the turbo. keep in mind that there isnt a big aftermarket for the contours... id rather throw a turbo kit on a mustang... something that has a healthy aftermarket and that can be a fast car... its just a contour guys :p
