Well, since very minor accidents can produce over $1000 worth of damage, I don't even think this is a cause for screaming foul or fraud. The car would still have a clean title, as it wasn't totalled, and really have nothing wrong with it.
My car has "accident repair damage" of almost $900 that in no way impairs it from being every bit as good of a car as one that didn't have it.
Sorry to seem unsympathetic, but this is making a mountain out of a molehill.
