well well now.. I believe the last thing was that the timing belt slipped off because an underpulley broke and it cost 700 to fix. Well so much for that 700$$ about a month ago it got so bad it wouldn't even start.. the starter wire was destroyed as was the starter EVEN THOUGH it was paid for to be replaced on several occasions. I put the car into my friend's dad's shop. He's really good with engines and is an italian no bs hard worker so I wasn't expecting any problems on his end when I got it back. He re-built the head for me becase it was damaged from the whole timing belt thing... I got it back and he said don't beat on it because the top of the engine is very tight while the bottom is still well 140 k almost.. so I broke it in for about 500 miles.. waited another 500 before racing my friend in his 1990 firebird V6 .... (track ok? happy? smile ) I beat him, had him the whole way through second and pulled away bad at the end of third. Unfortunetly I still can't beat the mitsubishi Gallant(97 4 cyd) it just slowly pulls away- but anyway.. I have not beat on the car since and now in the last 2 weeks since i changed the oil from synthetic to castrol(regular) as directed because of the engines miles.. it burns.... frown so I talked to him he said to get engine restore so i did and he also told me to change the oil to 10w - 40 so i did.. and it stopped for a day.. one day or maybe two.. now it 's burning again.. frown i start it.. big poof comes out.. not SUPER bad, but still.. any oil comming out of the tail pipe is too much.. right? uh what else.. yea it's pissing me off so I'm selling the 'tour for whatever I can get... frown I'd like to get another, but being 18 and all... I don't have much $$ these days.. I'll have to wait till AFTER i will lotto.. then I'll buy them ALL  but seriously now.. if anyone can offer some input on possibly a cheap way to stop this burning.. I might consider keeping it a while longer. I do like the contour, it's great.. no wait.. it's awesome... I've seen faster and stuff.. but for what it is.. this is a dynamic car... kinda makes u feel all warm and gooey inside huh? ok I just figured since I was back on the boards I'd post and say hi to everyone... How's the honkey tonk monkey doing?!?! Still producing quality artwork? Oh yes one last thing.. I'm not sure what is in my sig.. but my displayed name is quite eluding... I drive a 96 GL 2.0 so don't make the error of thinking that an SVT would lose to a gallant 4cyd smile See ya fellas later -Mike

Honkeytonk Monkey is now (on occasion) called by his real name Luke. And yes, his Photoshopping skills are awesome!! He now owns a Focus ZX5.

Why is your screen name 'SVT Mike' when you have a Zetec 2.0?

Sad to hear that you're having major problems. I keep having problems, get them fixed and still won't give up the car.

BacoSVT (formerly Baco99) is selling his Contour for $2700. Same as yours only it's a 95 with 100K miles, although in good condition. Just if you're wondering wink I want it but can't!!

Good luck with your car ...
