Have any of you guys ever been to the races in Chinatown. I heard that a bunch of filipinos and hispanics gather and show-off and race there cars. If any of you guys ever been there let me know, because I might go this weekend. If you did go did you race?where there alot of people?what type of cars?

ya its illegal.. big deal. is your choice to race, no one forces you into it. people who race there, or dody road, and airport road know the consequences if they get caught. the police knows about that stuff going on anyways. ive never been to chinatown but heard of it. ive been to airport road and saw some sick cars out there.. i felt like the slowest thing in there... i would say around 100-200 cars there from vipers to supras.. all nice cars

a kid actually just did a speech in one of my classes about street racing. he is philipino, and talked about the races in chinatown. he said they dont start until 2 or 3 in the morning. about three cars line up and go at it..that was pretty much all he said about it. like svtnos said, the cops know about this. they let it go on. ive heard about a place in the city where cops sit and watch until the end of their shifts, then they kick everyone out..

Yeah they meet at Kimbel and Austin on friday nights. i know one of the guys i work with tells me abut this place. if you want some more info i can find out for ya. I know everyone here has raced someone on the street. so that means we all broke the law includeing you.

Near I-55 and Pulaski, they race behind the burgerking, then there is Douhty road, thats near 111th and I-94, last time I was there my buddies, and I where there we have 8-10 shots fired at us. So I really do not like to go up there much. :rolleyes: Being shot just seems to ruin your day.

1st rule about street racing: dont talk about street racing!
Dont post locations on a public board, so every dumshyt with a hyudai will show up with 56 of thier loudest freinds.
I dont mean to sound like some know it all, but the people i've met and hung out with this summer in the city say that its been way to crowded most nights to have any decent, remotely safe, racing.
For anyone who does head down to chinatown to hang out, look for the group of subarus, im with them sometimes, stop by and say hi.

But I'm not about to get stuck with 200 other guys and get caught doing it in a 'raid'.
