You could ask how much they want for extra disk space (if possible). Their next level plan that serves our needs (3.5 GB disk, 100 GB bandwidth) is $57/month (~$700/year) - certainly not as affordable. That plan does allow extra disk space for $1/mo per 100 MB.
I doubt there is 500 MB of fat to chop off the site without removing the forums.
