AVN (avaition short range model) HAS FOCUS OF THUNDERSTORM TREAT MOVING SOUTHEAST OUT OF THE
NORTHERN PLAINS TO SOUTHEAST WISCONSIN SATURDAY NIGHT WITH FORCING
AT NOSE OF LOW LEVEL JET ALONG AXIS OF THETA E RIDGE. WILL INCLUDE A
LOW CHANCE POP FOR LATE SATURDAY NIGHT ACROSS ALL BUT FAR SOUTHERN
COUNTIES DUE TO PROXIMITY TO CWFA (Chicago weather forecast area) AND POTENTIAL OF A SLIGHTLY MORE
SOUTHERN TRACK OF THE SURFACE LOW. A CONTINUED THREAT SUNDAY AS
TRAILING WEAK FRONT OR TROUGH PROVIDES A LOW LEVEL FOCUS WHILE A
SHORT WAVE DROPS SOUTHEAST OUT OF THE UPPER MIDWEST.
These are quotes from the National Weather Service Chicago. Of course it could change, here's the official forecast.
.SATURDAY NIGHT...PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A 30 PERCENT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS OVERNIGHT. LOW IN THE LOWER 60S.
.EXTENDED FORECAST...
.SUNDAY...CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. HIGH AROUND 80.
This will all depend on the storm track which has shifted slightly south since yesterday...Personally I think it will shift even further south putting us in the potential for more rain/T-storms. Our meeting will be at 2pm with highs in the 80's...if it's sunny for part of the morning and all of the afternoon, This will destabilize the air...bad for us. Right now we are just looking at scattered afternoon T-storms...depending on how strong the cold front/trough is and the dynamics of the atmosphere.
ok, ok...I know kinda geeked out but hey, it's my hobby...I'd like to chase Tornadoes some day....in my SVT
