I was just curious if anyone here is into Auto Xing. I am a member of the Milwaukee SCCA and there are allot of events at Miller Park starting in May. I would like to see another Conique there giving her hell. The dates are May 20 and 27 if interested. I know there are events in the Chicago region to but if anyone is near the border or in WI it's a good chance to have a good time with your car. The touring class is made for cars with street tires and minor mods, no superchargers or nitrous. But aftermarket rims, tires, lowering spring cat-back exhaust, intakes, etc are all allowed I would think that our cars would be very successful if driven properly (this is my first year with my SVT so who knows). Well hope to see some interest.

I wouldn't mind trying out my car and trying to race in a few races. How much does it cost and what do I need to do to get involved.

Huibrex: We are West Mich. SCCA members and are active in solo and club racing. I've been thinking about doing an "outside" event for a while, guess we'll check out your regions web site to see if any fit into our summer plans. If you weren't at SZ, We'll be having another S2 at the same site in July. Also, we are having a go at running at Grattan on Labor Day again. Last year was great, about 150 cars.

O.K. next weekend the SVRA is having a vintage weekend at Road America. On Saturday and Sunday they have touring sessions that you can take your car out on the track and zip around. 80mph speed limit, which is B.S. because I've gotten up to 120 (according to co-pilot)down the front stretch and no one said anything to me, but you CAN"T pass in the turns. This is a big no no so don't even try. You'll be black flaged and have to leave the track. Some times you can't pass pace cars but they usually will let you pass if you can catch them Supra Turbos aren't easy to catch with our V-6's. But it is allot of fun and worth the money IMHO. Now about the auto crossing at Miller Park. It is $35 for non SCCA members and $30 for members, you must have numbers on the SIDE of your car NO-SHOE POLISH ON WINDOWS so if you have statich or magnetic #'s bring them other wise it is duct tape for you. There are two events there a month with the exception of May which there are events every weekend including next weekend. Tech is at 8 a.m. and you should know what class your in G-stock if you are running bone stock(within reason K&N or different tires are O.K.) Street Touring if you cars are lowered 17" rims etc. And then it's off to the races 6 runs and that's all she wrote. It seems like the car to beat in GS (G-stock) is an Eclipse GS-T and in ST (Street Touring) it is ,big suprise an Integra. I haven't run with these guys yet but look forward to it. Events are on Sundays and you have to bring your own helmet. Other wise you have to use openface helmets with spiderwebs in them. Any other info go to www.scca-milwaukee.org some events are put on by WAI- Wisconsin Autocrossers Incorporated but it is pritty much the same deal. Hope to see some of you out there if you have any questions for me my e-mail is jhuibrex@hotmail.com
