Today I contacted Ford Customer Relationship Center and explained how the Stillwater Ford had lied to me in wanting to replace my R12 system to R134. Well, she said she'd report it, and contact the dealer and see what they could do. Also, the service manager called me and explained they had made a mistake in the conversion. The sent me a fax of part #'s and prices like I wanted in the first place and he said they'd also refund me $50. I think I'll leave it at that. Call it a day. At least they knew they were wrong.

As far as my repairs go on the ac, I called the shop my cars at and so far he has on order 1 clutch/coil, $220. I hope that's the most he has to replace. Ouch, $220. I just want my car back. And fixed. I should have it back tomarrow (I hope). I'll let you know the outcome.

Write letters! And don't stop with just Ford Service, find out the name of the person in charge of the whole shebang and write a letter directly to them. Oh, and there is always the biggie-- make a big fuss in the showroom, especially if there are female customers! wink I am glad that they are going to give you a refund. I am still waiting on my refund for a bogus "diagnosis" fee. Glad you found a mechanic you can trust.

I'm half-tempted to take my old wiring harness (after I replace it, of course) and drop by the Ford dealer on a busy day, throw it on a desk and ask real loudly "what is this mess? these wires look like something off of a soviet tank from WWII!!! which is a problem because the car they're off of is only 7 years old!!"

I bet that'll make their day.

LOL Qaz! What a great idea. *evil laugh* I should have asked them if I could keep my old harness as a momento. But you should see the new harness, I could barely get my fuse box opened there is so much insulation! :p

If u haven't already payed Ford for what they did to the car, then don't. If they didn't do exactly what was right, then just don't pay. I doubt a Ford dealer will sue you since they only know how to be sued.

Finally! After a week of having my car in and out of the shop, I have her back! With air conditioning. Needless to say the weather isn't warm enough to use it right now.
The result are: 1 ac clutch Assembly. 1 ac relay, ac compressor diode, and 1 accumulator.

The shop in WI had my car since Thursday, and was finally done by yesterday. He only charged my $284 for labor. The rest was for parts. I paid $611 to him.

And I actually picked up the accumulator for my car, he found out by noon yesterday that he needed the accumulator, and his shop is 25 miles into WI, so he'd probably get the part by Wednesday morning, since the 2 Ford dealers that were close to him didn't have the part. I called one Ford dealership in White Beak Lake, and they said there was only 1 accumulator at 1 Ford dealership in Bloomington. Needless to say, I left work early to go and pick up the part and bring it to the shop so I can have my car a.s.a.p. I was sick of waiting for it. I paid another $89 + Leds (for the doors) = another $104.

So, about $700 later, I finally have air! That's 1/2 of what Ford wanted, and believe it or not, my compressor IS GOOD. (unlike what Ford told ,me)

One question: Can anyone find this part #? 273250, this is for the A.C. Clutch Assembly. Supposedly. I haven't been able to find this part # anywhere, nor the part. He charged me $222.23 for that part. You think I'd be able to find the part that costs that much money. Or is that an after market part? Just curious again.

But finally, I am happy to have my car back!! With a/c! laugh

Is this a Ford Motor Parts #? If so, I should be able to locate it. If not, then I'll have to do some more digging around.

Heck, I figure steel is more expensive than the aluminum alloy. Oh well, who knows...
