I saw a report last week on 5 mph collisions with new cars. I think it was on Dateline... anyway, only the Lexus got a 'fair' rating. All the other cars had extensive damage. Did anyone else see this? I wonder how Contours would do with the same tests? It seems like all the new cars have their bumpers integrated right up to the headlights and trunk lids. When they backed into poles or took a front corner impact, the bumpers held up okay but when they gave to the impact the pole or wall crushed the lights and trunks. The bumpers withstood the impact, but the car didn't!
