Hmmm... I'm getting similar symptoms from my car... only has 28k miles on it though... wheel bearings generally should last longer than that if I'm not mistaken, right?

Not Ford wheel bearings. A front went in my fathers Taurus at 26k or so. I was shocked. Covered under warranty though. I've had my front right done twice! Seems to be a semi normal problem. The rear like to go out in Foci too. mad

I've had two done. Forget the cost, but it isn't that uncommon of a problem on our cars.

I'm thinking mine may be something else now... sounds more central... rattling/grinding metallic sound on deceleration with or without braking, with or without the clutch in, doesn't matter if it is in gear or not... I should post this to the problems section...

Aaron, mine is similar to yours still. It's just more prominent when I slow down and the weight shifts to the front or when I'm turning left and the weight is on the right. If yours isn't something like that, with the different weight shifts....I doubt it's a bearing.
