If you like the looks of the Duc Monster, I would suggest the Honda Hawk GT. They are a little bit older ('88 to '91), but were ahead of their time. A 650 twin with decent torque. I have had mine for 6 years and love it. Not to mention that one can be had for around $3k in great shape, that is if you can find one. I think they make a great starter bike, with some room to grow.

oh yeah, i didnt realize it was for a first bike, true on that, you want something laid back for a first bike, easy to learn on.

Kristen...whats with "take me for a ride"? Don't you know how to ride one yourself? If not...take the course at Macomb College even if you never ride your own bike...you never know when someone might need thier bike transported and you could save the day (not that I woul dever let anyone ride my bikes....the Buell has about 18thousand dollars wrapped into it)........
