there is a '98 SVT for sale for $7900 in the classifieds that interests me (only 27k miles  ). I heard that they have 5 less horsepower though... is it hard to do whatever was done to the 99/00 contours to get that extra five?

KKM and Exhaust upgrades should get you that and a bit more.

it said it has a salvage title, i might be a little worried about that....

what did SVT do to get that 5 extra, though?

They did a little better Jon on the Extrude Honing...
I wouldnt worry about the 5hp.. Its all about the driver with such a little difference.

What is a salvage title and OASIS report (and how would i get one of those)? Im a little ignorant when it comes to this stuff, this would be my first car that i buy from someone i dont know. BTW thanks for the advice guys.
