My grandfather just bought a powder cater for som motorcycle parts and told me about it. so wensday i am going to go over and powder coat my TB and a few other little things. i am offering this up anyone in te area. i know bnoon is doing this as well but i am not really charging and no shipping. the turn around time for a smaller prt is like 1 hour and for bigger 2-3h. i really don't want to charge much. doing this for the goodness of the MI ceg. i mean i will charge you for the cost of the powder and the tape off stuff but that is it. right now he hs black and yellow. i also have a sand blaster ther so i wil do the yellow and then the black for pics. hope to have them up thursday. email me with any questions or ideas. also his warehouse is in like trpy i think. by big beaver and 75

I'd leave the t/body if I were you.The X shaft bearings will be damaged by the heat and the seals will melt, not to mention the plastic throttle cable arm!!!

good point terry and tordas. well i am going to be doing soem little things anyways liek the battary tiedown and any otehr little part i can find. any other points or ideas?

yes it is. school = bad. powder coating = nice. well i am going to go take some parts off the tour right now so i will tell you what i am going to do soon.

Disassemble it! Unless the parts are brand new, it will also need a bath over night in parts degreaser, then mineral spirits or other chemical surface prep, prebake at 350-400 degrees for 20-30 minutes, then coat. If you don't do all of these steps you end up with bubbles and/or peeling from a poor prep job. Don't cut corners or you'll be spending double time stripping off the coating and doing it over!!! Experiment on some other unimportant parts first or you'll be sorry!!!
