John, you are quite being accurate with what is the bare minimum requirements for Zaino.

Just for education since you still don't understand the products in question...

A perfect finish requires a proper base. These steps are the same no matter what final product you use to protect the car. Did you read my post on page 2? I do something similar before I apply my final product on any of my vehicles.

Feeling Froggy? hit it with a quick paste sealer wax. Takes about an hour and a half to do a mustang. You can get buffers for as low as $50, the rubbing compound costs about $8 and the polish costs about $8.
I guarantee it takes less time after the above prep work to put on a coat of Z1, a coat of Z2, then take it off. I can do a Contour sized car in under 10 minutes per step. Call it 25 minutes of my labor to put on Z1, Put on Z2 or Z5, then wipe it off all by hand. I just have to wait for the sealant to dry, an hour to 12 hours depending on weather. But I can do other things so I don't count it as effort.

Once you wipe off Z2 or Z5, you are done for a few months. Nothing extra required. If you want, you can add more coats to either A) hide light swirl marks or B) increase the shine, slickness, and depth. This is a common misunderstanding - "all those extra steps". The only extra step over any other complete detailing process is Z1, which requires an extra 8-10 minutes of the detailer's time.
