Well, guys, I admire your love for Zaino and as enthusiasts I see your loyalty as valid. BUT...Extreme knows his stuff because this is pretty much his specialty. Look at his pics. Does the car look professional? Thats cause it is. Its his specialty. I won't go and tell a carpenter what wood to use cause he knows it a lot better than i do...this applies here as well. Don't get me wrong, Zaino will get you a good shine, just look at Gators old pics. But it isn't the God of all car cleaners/waxes as you all make it out to be. Whew...got my rant out for the day...sorry...peace. ><>David<><

I buy whatever is easiest to reach off the shelf. First it was Turtle Wax, then Zymol and this weekend I used Meguiars. Aside from the smell, I can't tell a difference in performance but my car sure is shiny and smooth!

He hasn't replied to neither of my questions.... He can use whatever he wants. Does Zaino advertise? Hell no. Do they need to? Hell no. Wonder why? Why do 90% of Corvette owners on www.corvetteforum.com use Zaino? Gee, you tell me. They sure as hell ain't sponsored. So, the question remains, have YOU used Zaino, and if so, which products. If you haven't, don't knock it. I've seen DOZENS of people go from Meguiars/Mothers/whatever else to Zaino, and they ahven't looked back since. How many people have you seen go from Meguiars/Mothers/whatever to Zaino, then GO BACK? (people who didn't use Zaino properly need not apply) Anyways, I'm getting tired of talking about it. I don't get paid for trying to convert people, so I could care less what you do, just don't talk shiz about it if you've never tried the product. -John

there's only so much moisture a coat of paint can hold. Zaino is ok, but its way too expensive. Extreme has been in the body/paint repair biz for 14 years. He just put a buff job on my car that would make you zaino boys jealous...all in about an hour and a half...there's not replacement for a good rubbing compound followed by a good polish by professional hands.
Do yourselves a favor and get off the zaino kick...the same shine can be had for less $$$ from a nice wash, and a fresh coat of Meguiars Gold Class for a fraction of the cost.

Jugs-I have used it and its Hella easier than Meguiars which is what i used to use. I don't knock anyone for using it cause its fast, easy, and looks pretty good. I'm just sayin that Extreme has his opinion and since he is a PROFESSIONAL I believe it is extremely valid. If those 90% on the corvette forums had access to Alan's shop and a professional buffing job they would take that over Zaino any day. AND you also have to take into consideration that Extreme has arguably the best paint on this site..I mean he won that award at Fun Ford Weekend...so whatever he trusts his paint to has to be good stuff. Zaino is good stuff but not THE ultimate. ><>David<><

-John Dude, who cares what you and some over the hill corvette owners think....How many Best of Shows have YOU won???? I thought so. Dude, do yourself a favor and skip the zaino in favor of a good cut and buff with some 3M rubbing compoud, and a nice polish/carnuba wax to protect the shine.

These Zaino vs all threads are like the Mobil vs Amsoil debates over at TDIClub. Merely asking for an oil recommendation can result in a flamewar.
Incidentally, I'm on the Mobil side of the fence

I can't wait till Alan gets down here. He can tell me how to get my paint to look good. I would just be happy if it looked alright. The previous owners screwed my car up with crappy waxing and now it has paint sap on it. Arrr! Keeping a car clean can be hard sometimes.

Running around saying "ZAINO SUCKS" with no sort of argument to back it up is just plain ignorant. If my carpenter told me that the wood I had picked out sucked and didn't tell me a better type of wood or didn't explain why it sucked, he wouldn't be my carpenter for very long.
Maybe his paint is "the best" because he plonked down $$$$ for that expensive stuff? Ford paint (on the Contour at least) sucks. Comparing aftermarket paint to stock paint is not apples to apples.
I bought my Zaino supply from a detailer that was leaving his shop and moving on to sell cars (what's that? a detailer that uses Zaino??). Sold it to me at wholesale price, which is the only reason I bought it really. I was happy with Meguiar's and didn't think anything could be better for the price I was willing to pay. I threw the Meguiar's away when I moved last summer.
