Has anyone ever actually added up how much $$ they have spent over time in Meguiars or any other product?
Zaino seems expensive at first, but usually with Meguiars you spread out your purchases over time. Zaino has to be used in a certain order, therefore you must purchase everything together making the cost seem higher. Then 2 years later when you are still on the original bottles, you can dived the cost over time and it is the same if not less.
I've been an avid user for some time now and for the time and effort, I don't think the results can be any better. I'm not saying it CAN'T be done, but I am skeptical.
If your mind if is made up that you aren't going to switch, congratulations on finding a product that your happy with w/out seeing what else is on the market. I've given up trying to convince people. Those that try it LIKE it, its a proven fact! I to have thrown more Meguiars stuff away than I have spent on Zaino, you live and you learn.
I'm surprised nobody has brough up the "SZ wax/polish" challange at SZ.
I'll admit to this; I still use Mneguiar's Gold Class tire dressing. Some may be shocked, but I actually want to use it up before buying any of the Zaino stuff. The rest of the stuff, wax and such is long gone.
Theres my $.02 take it or leave it.

I dunno about that, I've gone almost 2 years on my initial purchase, despite regularly using it on 3 different cars, plus occasionally on one other, and only onw am I running out of two components, and one of those is because SilverSnake cracked the bottle and spilled half of it. By trying to make ( me sound like i dont know what im talking about). Then so be it. :p Have you EVER used Zaino? Or done anyhting with it? Do you have ANY experiential knowldge with the product in question? Other than just saying its crap, a waste of time, and too expensive? If you prefer to waste your money on that crap go ahead. Why should i care. Please see my comments above, I honestly don't see it as being a waste of money, and in fact, in the long run, it is comparable in price to any other combination of products I have ever used. But no matter what you say or do. I can promise you that i can out polish anyone of you guys in half the time with better resluts and alot less money. I bet you can (at least faster than me), but you also prolly have professional detail equipment, like a high-speed polisher, various levels of polish, etc. all representing a very large investment, which most of us don't wish to do, and is more than likely quite a bit more than the initial investment for zaino. Of course, if we did this "face-off" I guarantee you, the shine on my car wouldn't be far off from your "professional job" and I would be done very close to the same time, of course I would be far less tired/sweaty, because most of the time I will just be waiting for the zaino to dry. So you do the math, If you still have the capacity for relative judgement. Which i strongly doubt being that your all excelling in the moronic fashion you do so well. Well, to me, the math says (btw, I do have a college minor in math) that zaino is a perfectly viable product, that is easy to use, not expensive in the long run, and works great. It seems that you are the one that has lost capacity for relative judgement. You can't seem to grasp the concept that it is possible for there to be a good polish product that you are not experienced with. And further, no one is knocking your ability for car detailing, several people have complimented your pics and awards, so quit acting like a wounded duck, and grow up a little.

QB] That's because the car they used was severely swirl-marked, and they didn't use any of the swirl-mark "remover" like you are supposed, so the Z1 just shined up the scratches, making them nice and sparkly, while the meguiar's wax just melted intot he swirl marks. I fully agree that the meguair's side did look good, but the zaino was not done properly on that car.

In closing one thing that really makes me laugh. Is fuc*ing with people ( pushing thier buttons) to see how far they will take it. I dont think Zaino users are stupid. I dont understand the big deal about it. There are more feasible & economical ways to maintain your cars finish. But everybody does things in there own way. Don take things so personally from the net. Its all a joke anyway..... :p  LET IT SLIDE!!!!!!

I interrupt this arguement for a dumb question...
Do all the different waxes out there only effect the clearcoat? I am assuming swirl marks etc are only in the clear coat, correct?

My 2000 SVT, 1 week after I got it. Stripped, clayed, 1 coat of Meguires Gold-Class. My 2000 SVT, 1 week before I sold it (1.5 years of abuse later). Stripped, clayed, 1 coat of Zaino Z2. No BS. I used to use Meguires religiously. I had a full stock of their products, including Gold Class wax, High-tech Yellow wax, the various polishes, the clear-coat scrubber, the vinyl/rubber dressing, the tire gel, the car wash, etc... I swore by the stuff and thought it was great. I heard about Zaino on the internet, and it peaked my curiosity. I was perfectly happy with Meguires, but keeping an open mind as always, I ordered some Zaino. A week later I had my Z1, Z2, Z6, Z7, and leather care products. I stripped the car and clayed it. I proceeded to use Z1 and Z2 on it. I was amazed at how easily it went on. No pressure needed, I didn't have to massage it into the paint. It dried within 15 minutes and I took it off. Again I was pleased at how easily it came off. After that I backed my car out into the driveway (and in the sun) and was shocked at how great it looked. As good as I though Meguires looked before, Zaino looked even better. The paint actually felt smoother as well. I ended up giving about $30 worth of partially used Meguires wax bottles to a neighbor of mine. I kept some of the polish bottles for paint-prep use, and of course I still use the tire and vinyl care products. Other than that, I use Zaino on my car. It just works better, period.

I guess it boils down to, whatever works, use it! As for me, this evening I noticed people slowing down to check out my car as they walked down the street on their Sunday evening stroll. I'm not lying. It's parked in the same spot I always park. The only difference being that tonight it wasn't dirty and covered in bugs. One old man gave my car a good lookover from front to back, gave a nod of approval and continued his walk. I'm not fooling! Made the 2 coats I put on well worth the effort! Meguiars hit the spot!
