I have to agree with Stazi on this one. Even with a Maters Degree in Engineering, you are not coming out of school making 60 - 70K in the automotive industry and with no experience!
You pretty much have to earn your keep at a company now before they offer more money to you. And usually more money means higher resposibilities, so a college grad with a MBE is not coming into a business without any experience, making 60K -70K - especially in automotive!
