Sadly.... All too-often... that is a very justifiable fear... Appreciate the comments... I went out there last night.... We have known each other for about 2 years, and we lined up, after dark (snuck in...) and ran..

I launched rather well, but with her ATX she could claim just the same. Off the line I pulled all the way through 1st, and then quickshift to 2nd, still pulling..

About 1.. maybe 1 1/2 car-lengths away by the middle of 2nd.. Moving to third I caught a nasty mis-shift.. (THAT sucked... laugh ) but then through it in 3rd. She gained a few INCHES then.. lol.. After third, it was ALL SECONDARIES, BABY!!! lol She didn't have the slightest chance..

I appreciate the encouragement.

(oh... btw.. as a side note... afterwards... we stayed and... uhm... talked.... on the track.. (okay, okay, we made out, cause she says "That was such a rush, to see you pulling ahead of me going so fast!!!" Perfect girl? lolol

Ray smile

I hear you... I really like those cars... But unfortunately I am a Ford guy... I had two Crown Vics instead...

Hey, I know.. it is not the same... but it did satisfied me for a couple of years..

laugh

Talking about Crown Vics, I've seen a black 2000 with tinted windows and nice rims (impala style) and few other extras.. the thing lookd VERY impressive. I know most people hate when people try to make a big sedan look sporty.. just like grabing a 95 Intrepid and adding wings and $hit mad But this Crown Vic lookd so NICE....

I played with a newer *cough* Impala on the highway, punched it from about 80mph in 4th and I pulled lightly on him to about 95mph and then I just pulled real hard. He did not give up because when I let off and moved over to the right lane he gave a fly by.....

S/C 3.8l or the Aurora (Oldsmobile) 3.5L either one could end up in that car. Supposedly next year's Pontiac Grand Prix will have a minimum of 270 HP, possibly 280 (up from 240). If they stuff that engine into the Impala, then there could be trouble beating it. This years Impala does have decent torque though, so it might take you out of the hole, but if you're driving a stick, then you'll take her b/c that auto in the Impala is junk. Bad shifts.

That is what I was thinking... I drove the *cough* Impala, afterwards.. it hesitates to launch, and the shifts from 1-2, and 2-3 were REALLY rough... almost like the shift points were WAY off... it was revved WAY too high when it finally kicked in to the next gear.. HUGE drag everytime it FINALLY shifted..
