Thanks,

Just peeled mine right off and then took some rubbing alcohol and went over the surface, cant even tell anything was there. Make sure, if you using rubbing alcohol that you don't leave any drops sitting on the paint, i beleive it will harm the clearcoat...

goo gone. We used it at our last meet on a few cars to remove the residue after taking pinstriping off. It didn't seem to affect the finish any.

I've had good experience w/ 'Mineral Spirits' found at Lowe's/HomeDepot. Dunno for sure whether it will hurt the paint or not, but didn't do a thing to mine.

Thanks everyone,

I will look for Goo Gone in Edmonton, Canada stores and use rubbing alchohol/mineral spirits if I can't find any.

I will put a few layers of wax on after to protect the area again.

Any solvent that dries quickly should work, that includes alcohol, naptha (mineral spirits), goo gone, etc. Obviously you don't want to use anything that is abrasive (rubbing compounds).

Goo gone or WD 40 (especially good at removing bumper sticker adhesive).

A friend of mine who owned a body shop swore by Cleenz-Easy so I bought some. It does a good job. It was only available at a local auto parts store where they mix and sell paint to body shops.

I do think that goo gone is an excellent alternative. I've seen it most everywhere from Wally-World to Home Depot.
