Just tell them it was mistake and that you care enough about your driving record to make an attempt to at least get put on probation.

Wow guys.....I have been kind of lucky when I feel the urge to "show off" MY RECORD... CLEAN! I got a Drag racing ticket one time. I was racing my friends Integra GS-R. We got a complaint. And next thing we know...That last run we did we had an oakland county officer waitng behind a tree for us...COST?? oh it was about 6 points and a phat fine. I knew a lawyer and I called him. He said 500 bucks to get out of it. So the court date came and I got a 250 fine NO POINTS! So 750 total! Damn what a mistake. That could of meant a lowered SVT for me! Oh well. I have learned a little bit. Although the other day on M-59 there was this kid in a Grand Prix SE and had a HOT chick in the car (home-coming) He had his friend in the back with his girl and they were all dresse up. So this kid wants to mess around.. There was a little traffic. So I wave to the hot blonde and drop into 3rd and pull away...I hit "DANGERZONE" on the Mp3 player. And I smoke him. Well he goes in the middle lane (turning lane) to get by me again. I said to myself that "I am going to lose this guy" Well my friend (next to me) was navigating... I hit 120 and lost him hard core and then guess what???? Passed a COP going the other way!!!! Holy COW! That scared the hell out of me. I cant belive he didnt see A RED SVT flying at 120mph right by him...Oh well I got lucky.. (not with the girl in the car) DAMMIT Ok I am tired of typing this bad story..seeya guys. Joe
1998.5 T-RED SVT 18" Team Loco 142's W/ Dunlop Rubber 181.2hp@6900rpm/155tq@5000rpm LOTS OF MODS OF EVERY KIND.... ...Am I a guru yet??? No... not yet.

The guy that sold me mine on eBay seems to have a huge supply of them on sale on eBay...

In my 11 years of driving and owning a radar detector. I've come to the realization that they are a waste of $ just as dnewma stated. If your cruising down the eway and the cop has his radar off and turns it on when you blow by it's too late.

All I gotta say about it is, I came From washington state, I got Neglegent Driving 2nd degree, 2 5 over speeding tickets that were 15 over, 90 in a 75 in montana on my way up from washinton and a 60 in a 25 brought down to 5 over in Reese MI. I got a Radar detector, and haven't had a speeding ticket yet. But I am still aware of where cops are. There are radar detectors that actually Jam police radar. If your going to spend 400 dollars on one you might as well get a $500 one that Jams radar. Or settle with one that cost $100 bucks that works great from Radio Shack. There I hear, are only 2 laser guns in the state of Michigan, and the cheap 100 dollar one can detect it, and talks as well in a female voice. Choice is yours people, but use your money wisely. lol
SoDxSainT Ford Contour '95, GL 4cyl. Stock so far.
Ford Escort '90 late model (the nice one) 1.9L 4cyl, 2 3/4 inch exhaust, header, Streeight flow through muffler bullet exhaust, Suspension technique, Decals, Tinted, stereo, 16 inch Platinum Rims with Kuhmo's (Think that's the name). Just a nice all round Rice kicker!!

I know they can be pointless to have, but not always. In my situation, I wouldn't have gotten this last ticket had I had one. The cop was sitting there w/ his radar gun thingy ma bobber on. My friend who I was trying to catch up to has that $100 Cobra one and his sucks yet went off and saved him. If a $400 Valentine detector isnt' going to be enough, and you think I should spend $500 or more on one, why don't I just start saving my money, buy night vision goggles and only race at night w/ my lights off and the goggles on!?!?! that way even if they do pick something up going 64 in a 40, they sure as hell wont' see it, hehe.

If you want the best protection possible, get a CB and get on a channel with a lot of trucker traffic. They help each other out by telling each other where the cops are. My cousin was a sales rep for weyerhouser (sp??) and his sales area was from Quebec to Texas. He tried about every radar detector he could get his hands on and still had a bad record. He got a CB and hasn't had one in the last 3 years. It won't help for city driving, but can't be beat on the interstate.

although I've considered getting a CB just for the hell of it anyhow, I doubt I'd get one for this purpose mainly because most of my driving is through cities and streets where truckers can't help as much.
