I here of all these people that have walked away from there accidents. I'm just curious how many Contiques have been put to pasture or repaired, what the extent of damage was, and mostly what those peoples experiences were like in this vehicle during the accident. I agree that these are safe cars and would be interested to compile a list of people whom know this first hand.

3 wrecks
1st was about 3 days after I got the car, scratched a couple inches of paint off the bumper when some guy pulled out in front of me. No one was hurt.
2nd I rearended a Saturn. $300 of damage to her bumper (repaint), my bumper needed repainted, and hood replaced. Fender was slightly buckled, but not repaired. Total was about $1200 to my car. No one was hurt. I was probably going under 10mph when I hit her.. There was another accident up ahead that I didn't see, and didn't know she was stopping when I saw her brake lights, until it was too late.
3rd I got into an argument with a guardrail, and lost. Bumper needed repainting. Airbags went off, took the windshield with it. Dash was cracked and replaced. Total bill was about $4400. $400 of that was body work, the rest was from the airbags. CarMax offered me less than that right after it was repaired (indication that it probably should have been totalled)! Only damage to me was a couple of small scratches on my face from the airbags and a bruise on my knuckle. I figure I was going about 30mph at the time of impact. Most likely, I would have been fine without the airbags.

That would require someone around here to do what I'm talking about in this thread and I know that you wouldn't wish that on anyone.............unless you were really desperate for a bumper. P.S. Mike has the console for you.

3 accidents
1) i taped a ford explorer no damages period
2) a teacher hit my car, i wasnt there so i didnt get hurt
3) a 2 weeks after i got my rear svt bumper painted, a lady rear ended really hard my car practically did a 180. bumper cracked in half, wheel well bent 1/8 of the way into the car. looked like there is some frame damage, but my insurance says there isnt. as for me i was fine, just pumped with adrenaline, thats about it, and the confusion. at first. im fine, my neck was fine i had my head rest up properly. and wearing my seat belt.
read the first line of my signatture. and tell me that isnt true.

Sorry to all, not trying to hijack this thread...
Mbb: No, no, just waiting for you to find me an SVT kit in the boneyard... My front end looks worse everyday and the bumper sag from my accident is horrid to look at. I'm just impatiently awaiting a kit for this car.

First; had a guardrail sneak up on me in a snow storm...severe damage to my passenger doors. Alone, no injuries...except my pocket book. Second; rear ended at stop light. about to drive off and I feel a tap...I was in the front of a four car wreck. scratched bumper, no injuries Third; old guy backed into me pulling out of his parking space. I had just pulled out of mine and had no where to go so I just sat and watched him back into me. didn't hear my horn apparently. Fourth; some jack ass backed down the passenger side of my car...scratched rear bumper to front bumper. same side I had repaired less than a year ago. not present. Fifth; snow storm...cut a corner too close and clipped a curb rather hard. Sixth; just a couple days ago...two small dents in rear pass. door with a large scrape...through paint, through primer. not present. Do I have the worst luck in the CEG?...hardly...I haven't totalled it yet so I'm doing pretty good, huh?!
