HOLLY JUNK what happens if i put a type R sticker and get a"CHERRY BOMB" muffler from murrays put on? I came out with 678 fwhp, it woul have been 912 but i have a donut on instead of my "custom" rim with hubcap. Also the HP you have directly affects your benchpress ability and toughness, also if your a "thug" you automaticly get 53 hp added to any car you sit in and you can bench 200 more pounds.
I've spent the last 45 minutes reading this stuff, shows how much i know about adding hp

I can't believe you come in here talking like this. We have all spent countless hours calculating exactly how much horsepower can come from what, and you bring in this new variable. I was told if you couldn't bench even 100 that you gained 200 horsepower. As for the thug thing, I hear being a "dork" or a "nerd" gives you a faster quarter mile time, but lower top end...go figure?

Ya know...all this talk about HORSEPOWER...don't you people know that there's more to life then pure power? Lest you forget about HANDLING! Of course there are several ways to improve the handling of your vehicle...popular additions I've seen include gold wheels that extend several inches past the fender lip...and of course the resulting camber change can add a full G of lateral acceleration.
HOWEVER, the absolute most cost effective handling upgrade available is the lean This is one area where the Pontiac enthusiasts have an advantage on us...indeed they have really pioneered this inexpensive way to increase handling. Of course wider is better, but by leaning toward the middle of the car with one wrist laying on top of the steering wheel, a full 15g's of lateral acceleration can be achieved, it's true!

Alow the self proclaimed know-it-all to respond before you get carried away. I'll agree that we've been neglecting handeling, and everything you said was true. However, you left out a few very important facts. Pontiac's have us beat in handeling, but it's not because of what you said....it's because of the word "Grand". They found the secret in 3500B.C., way before Henry Ford figured it out. That word makes your car handle so much better. Notice both words have the letter "D" in it? It's simple things like that.
Now onto something more important, on the Contour...the best way to get better handeling, is to have a badge made up, or a sticker (extra horsepower too!) and make the car the "Grand Contour" ...see, they both have "R"'s!!! Keep this on the D/L though!

Yes, handling is good, ESPECIALLY if you have some cross-drilled brake lines and concrete brake pads for added stopping power... *I can't believe this thread has this many posts... Kinda cool!!*

This just goes to prove how weird I really am...considering I probably have at least half of these posts Oh yeah, and on a side note. I hear if you chop off parts of your car, and put on truck tires that raise your car 1 foot, then get a lowering kit to lower it 1 foot...it looks pretty bad ass!

ive read all the posts, but no one can handle my neigbors 88 grand prix. so whats its a pontiac,, this thing has 6" extenders,,14 fake daytons with bald tires(the less tred on the tire the more grip to the road) (can take laguna seca's turns at over 150 mph)has no rear window.. (awesome aerodynamics,, has .. the ratle bumbs.. you know the system taht hits 300 dbs.. blow up windows in the neigbor hood. and of course.. you can beat the big white sticker in the cracked windsheild that says Grand Prix.. that alone has to give it like a 1000 hp. im trying to think of any other mods it might have but im just lost in how awesome the car is.. some times i drive by and throw my pop in the back window just because i want it so much,, he must love the backseat, people just praise him with old mcdonalds and burgerking food.. i tell you good old hazel park for yah..

Come on now, don't get carried away just yet! Let's break this down. Broken rear windshield....that will offset the sticker on the front windshield! See....all of these thing's alone will add power, but combined the make things suck! It's like....you can put exhaust on your car, or you can put an intake thing on your car....but if you do both, it'll suck. Everyone knows that. Unless it had a wing on it as high as the car is long....it's got nothing on you.
