i try to wash mine w/ the bucket method every week. my SVT never saw the inside of an automated car wash while i had it - though i did have to use the quarter-operated ones for a while b/c of water restrictions at my apt. complex. even then, though, i took the bucket and only used their water for rinsing it off....

now that i've got a house (and now that i'm no longer served by the one reservoir in my area that gets low in prolonged droughts), i can wash the car whenever i want to - no chores from a wife to come first, no water restrictions, etc.
