it was like 11:30 and i was about 1/4 mile away from my house pulling out of burger king. the streets are dead and i see state roll by. i turn opposite way as them to head home and they do a u turn in the middle of the road. tail me for a min then get to the rearleft of me and i put on my turn signle and boom, the lights go on. they almost hit me in the rear when getting behind me. what a bunch of f*cking losers. they arent real cops. all they do is pester the damn kids around her. so anyways i got a ticket for my tint, that there was no way to tell i had because it was to dark out to tell. but if i remove it, they will cancel it out. also if i get a perscription from a doc saying i need it would work too. does anyone know what you have to have wrong with your eyes to make the tint legal in the front?

by the way. im not bashing cops in general. i think cops are one of the greastest things but the ones up here just badger the hell out of us teens. its retarded.i could go on and on about them and how dicky they are but i will stop now. sorry, just had to let off some steam.

They give doctors notes out for astigmatisms, I think thats right, but you can't just get a note you have to go to the secretary of state and theres a form you take to the doctors office to be filled out by them. A regular note might get you off a couple times but you'll eventually get ticketed..

Is having tint that dark really worth it? Why is it that important to have it?

the prescription you get for tints is because you are photophobic ( sensitive to light) and tarten yes the tint really helps on bright days because i am photophobic

That's fine, no one will argue that reasoning. BUT how about the majority of people that use the illegal tint that are not photophobic? I am curious about their reasoning.

hey, so all you gotta do is go into the secretary of state and ask them for said form? Sounds simple enough, do they just have these forms.....lyin around? Now I just gotta convince my eye doctor im photophobic.

Just go in there and ask them for the form to be filled out by an eye doctor..

Well I have really dark tint on my car but it was legal in AZ and not in MI where I am now. I did it for survival down there and up here I just don't want to take it off. my .02 worth.

First of all, I feel Mike's pain. I got nabbed a few weeks ago for tint and had to take it off the front doors. Just had to have it re-done last week.

Tartan, I had my black SVT tinted with 20% all around except for the front windshield for many reasons. A few being that it's much more comfortable in the blazing sun and it saves the leather. Another is the privacy, it just feels like you're in your own little world. Plus it somewhat hides the fact that I have money invested in the DVD/audio system. I also love the look, especially with the black on black. it puts your SVT in stealth mode wink

Seth,

The main reason is to reduce heat. With the leather seats on my F-150, tinting the front windows provides a much cooler seat after work. The SVT Contour is the same, except I had to tint all of them.
