As someone who until last year had 33 points on his driving record, I have a little knowledge on this subject. First what you need to do is call the court in which city the ticket is for and ask them if they offer any type of drivers awareness class that you can take instead of getting points. I know they do that in Royal Oak. If they do offer something like that, you'll go in front of the judge and maybe he'll offer that to you... if you're lucky.

But for the most part, you should think about hiring a lawyer. You won't have to pay too much because basically the lawyer will simply go negotiate with the prosecuting attorney and work you out a deal. by the time you're done seeing the judge, the lawyer has really only spent 1-2 hours on your case and it's almost guaranteed you wont get points if you have a solid lawyer with a good repuatation who knows the system and people who work it.

If you're in the area and serious about not getting the points, I could get u in touch with my lawyer who managed to get my license back for me when it was on the verge of being permanently revoked. but your post said u dont want to pay for it so i dont really know what you're hoping for over there... You're phucked in two ways because of the ticket/court costs and the points. Might as well pay a little bit more and not get the points because thats what matters in the long run.
