I have a 98 'Tour and I'm not so fond of the tail light that goes completely across the back. I was wondering if a pre-98 would fit because its only the two individual lights? Can anyone help?

Yes; I believe it's just a matter of taking the trunk off its hinges and then putting the pre-98 trunk on those hinges. If I'm correct, the bolts are all in the same locations. There are at least a few CEGers that have done this already. I'd like to do it to my own someday as well.

Yep. It's all just a matter of swapping the lids. If you are lucky you may be able to find somebody who wants to trade, although I don't see why they would since the pre-98 trunk is superior

The painted ones look really sweet, especially (IMHO) if the car is Silver Frost in color. The real taillight lights are actually the parts NEXT to the trunk.

Rather than paint the center reflector (which makes the actual brakelights look unfinished in my opinion) has anyone every removed the whole center reflector, license plate assembly, and modified it in a way similar to the new taurus trunks. It just might appear cleaner?  Or better yet try for an X-Type rear end:  Still probably easier to change to the pre-98 decklid

I might be willing to trade trunk lids with you. It needs a little bit of polishing but is in good shape. I just need to figure out what a post 98 would look like on my car.
