How many people even have CB's??? I think more people are going to have Nextels and Motorola talkabouts either way some form of two way communication is a plus. Not to mention they work when you are outside of your car. (hence the officials aren't going to be in their cars every moment of the convention) I am working on getting talkabouts from work for ALL of the officials that already do not have them. -Mark ------------------ What do you see? I have 2 CBs...one will be permanently mounted in the 89 and the other is wired with a cigarette plug & a magnetic mount antenna so it's 100% mobile; no installation required. Greg will probably be using that one. CB's are nice because you can also monitor general traffic on channel 19...it's a gold mine to have on long trips because you can find out about potential traffic problems before you get caught up in a traffic jam. You can also identify "smokeys"...so it's kinda like a second radar detector. And if worse comes to worse, the police DO monitor channel 9 in case of emergencies. I prefer CB's, but ANY form of communication will help out during SZ! ------------------ Chris Smith President SSS of West Michigan http://svt.sho.tripod.com 95 SHO MTX Silver Frost 92k SOLD 4.14.01 89 SHO MTX Light Titanium "1ST SHO" 117k, Koenig Reign 16x7.5 rims, Kuhmo 225/50VR 16 rubber, fender airbox removed, MANY MANY mods to come! 93 SHO ATX Black 34k coming soon Spring Zing 2001 National Contour/SHO Convention April 27-29 2001 http://www.GTExtreme.com/SZ2001

I just got that day off, so I'll be at 12 Oaks at 11:45; outside Hudsons you say? I'll stick out like a sore thumb, big blue Taurus with a dent and some scratches in the hood... I'm also not staying for the weekend. I'm going to play it by ear, but I'll probably drive back Friday night even. I've got a CB, so I'll stick out even more with my hick-a-billy antenna on the back. Do we even want to leave earlier if the cruise from Clarion to Lane starts at 1? Doesn't make a diff to me, I'll be at the beginning of a three day weekend without any concern for time.

I will probably be leaving pretty early on friday (like 7 or 8am), so I won't be able to get in on the caravan
