Well, I was the only contour out at milan yesterday for my first time. I wish that some of you guys could of made it out there. There was about 10 cougars, 7 civics and the rest we all muscle cars. I was a little dissapointed in my times because I could not get a good reaction time. I think my clutch is going because everytime I try to rev. it up to about 2.5k- 3k my car starts to creep forward and I end up fouling so I couldn't get a good launch off but I did end up taking out a few cars.

'99 svt vs. '00 Cougar w/ my horrible reaction time. My times are on the left.
Reaction time. 1.060. - .669
1/4 Mile 15.60 - 16.01

'99svt vs. Riced out civic..I think I missed 2nd on this one..Again my times are on the left.
Reaction Time. .911 - .794
1/4 Mile 16.005 - 16.904

99 svt vs. 95 mustang gt. w/both horrible reactions.

Reaction 1.072 - 1.245
1/4 MIle 16.173 - 16.545
He had flows and an x pipe but something must of been wrong with his car.

The best time i Had last night was
a 15.4 with a reaction time of 1.236. So i figure If i can get my reaction time way down I won't be doing so bad. Also with all my 1/4 mile times, i'm only getting to 87-89 mph which seems a little low. We'll see what happens next time.

last summer, w/ my stock SVT, I got to where I could run 15.7-15.8 pretty consistantly. I'd really like to get a y-pipe and then go out and see how much it will help.

BTW, Brian, do mean your car was creeping w/ the clutch fully depressed?

It's all about balance.

With the clutch all the way in when reving my rpm's up the car would creep forward...I'm getting my y pipe tomorrow so i'm probably going to see what I can do next week..

Your reaction time doesn't come into play when calculating your ET. If that was the case, your ET would be based on when the light went green and when you crossed the finishing line. If the light went green, and you sat there motionless for an hour, then decided to take off, your ET is still going to be the amount of time it took to traverse the 1/4 mile starting from the time your car broke the beams at the starting line to the time it broke the beams at the finishing line.

Thank you. Finally someone pointed that out. R/T has nothing to do with your E.T. The only time R/T comes into play is when you are bracket racing or head up racing(similar to street race) where sitting at the light forever will result a loss for you regardless how fast your E.T. is.

Btw, try to launch the car as the 3rd yellow light comes on. That will give you a good shot to get a .500 light(perfect light). Hope this helps

milan is slick as hell... try revving to like 2k then dumping the clutch and stomping on it... anything more then that you are gonna have a good chance of catching some wheel-hop/wheelspin, which is a major power loss...

Ohh..ok, so you don't actually start the clock until you launch past the start line? I wasn't completely sure of that...Thanks for the info..

Brian, i was in one of those cougars there. Dude... why didnt you make your girl sit out? I saw she was a small girl but still that extra 90-100lbs or so hurts your numbers! Heh... we were all standing there waiting for you to kick her out and ya never did. Oh well... is that low about standard time standard for a stock svt? 15.4 or so? Im only asking because one of our modified cougars hit a 15.5 or so with a gutted interior and only an intake and exhaust. I am in no way bashing or trashing svt's or your times Id simply like to know what a stock svt with a reasonably good driver is capable of running. Thanks guys.
