'92 tempo? I feel your pain.
I was actually tempted to buy a '94 Tempo when I was 18. It was $3000, had the auto seat belts, only 50k miles and in real good condition...except that they backed it up into a snow bank to hide the fact that it was rear ended. I gave them $300 down for it (being the dumb teenager I *was* at the time) and told them I'd buy it if they could inspect it (it was due for inspection a month ago). When they called me about it, they said it would cost $1500 to inspect it because the car was rear ended and needed body work. I told them that I didn't want to buy it and I wanted my money back, to which they said "Well, deposits can't be refunded". I told them "Why didn't you tell me it was rear ended before I put a deposit down on it? Well, I'll see you in court for fraud then." Immediately he told me he wanted me to come down and talk about it, and had my $300 waiting for me. He was even going to give me a good deal on another car as a gesture of good will, but I told him to go f**k himself and bought another car from a private owner two days later.
The point of the story? Tempos suck, and don't buy cars from Gary Miller Mazda in Erie, PA
