Not illeagal in MI. Only Canada (remember to take it down or it will be confiscated), Washington DC, and Virginia.
I have an old cheap one in another car that i don't really use. I used to have a nice Escort cordless, but found out I relied on it too much. I would cruise at 90mph on expressways and not pay attention to visual speed traps and still got caught a couple times. I got rid of the cordless one 3 years ago and have only gotten speeding ticket since. I keep it set cruise at 10mph over on highway and keep a watch out.
However triple digit speeds are really no nig deal. It traffic is crusing at 80-90mph as usual, another 10-20 is no big deal on freeway. Heck, I've hit the speed limiter at 103 in my F-150. I've also hit 135 in the SVT on a stretch of I-75 without other cars around and without a radar detector.
