Hey guys I have some green to purple PPG paint for sale. It's normally like $1100 per quart and I have some that I can let go for $800. This is the same stuff I used on my 95 'tour to make the Mystic like color. Let me know....

yeah, or by the house of kolor kamelian paint for the same price as the ppg. Did you really pay that much???

First of all the PPG version is not Chromalusion, that is DuPont's name and most paint stores are getting $34 per ounce. Do the math... $34 time 32 ounces in a quart equals $1088.00 The PPG version is a true base clear and needs no colored ground coat like some of the others and you get what you pay for.

Chromalusion is a common description for that type of paint regardless of brand!
I called Painter's Supply to find out how much they sell the PPG Green to purple paint... $399+tax per quart

I called the Plymouth Painter's Supply and the cost as of today is $35 PER OUNCE! If any one can get Harlequin (PPG's version) for $399 per quart they better buy all they can. And a little back ground for you... The trade name for the pigment that gives the paint the actual color shift is called Chromaflair. It is made by a company in northern California called Flex Products. Flex is a spin off company of OCLI. (Optical Coatings Lab Inc) Each paint company has a version that they have tagged with their own brand name, PPG's is Harlequin, Dupont is Chromalusion, BASF calls theirs Extreame etc... The PPG version is higher in pigment load than the other companies which allows it to be applied as a true base/clear unlike some of the others which require a colored ground coat like a tri stage white pearl has. The less steps you need to achive color makes it easier to repair. Check out www.colorshift.com (Flex's site) to learn more. Here's a lesson for you... Don't open your mouth if you don't know what your talking about...

not to create a battle over paint, but, i went to a bodyshop near my house in maryland and the guy told me that the paint is close to $1000 a quart
