I'm forever looking for people to race on 696... so look for me!! It's boring as hell being on it all day, back and forth somewhere in between Orchard Lake & Gratiot.

Hey, What does your GTX top out at? I was driving one day on 696 around 80-90mph (usual speed) and saw this one GTX fly up by past me so I dropped it in 4th and let her rip and pulled 5th and caught up at around 125mph or so. Just wondering cuz by the time I eventually seen 150mph on my speedo, he was far behind. Maybe he just didnt have the balls to go any faster?!?!?!? Or maybe I'm just a crazy lunatic that doesnt give a phuck and someday you guys will be posting pics of my arrest for high speed racing. lol laterz

ASi_TEK, Damn, you got some serious guts for running that fast on 696. Too bad I don't take my car to work otherwise I would like to run you couple times; just make sure you keep it under 149(speed rating for my DRs). BTW, have you use the G-tech for a 1/4 mile run yet? ------------------ 98 cobra 12.60@108.06 NA 12.38@113.07 75 shot

Well ASi_TEK you definately weren't running me... the only races I've ever got on 696 were a couple 99-00 Mustangs and a Camaro... With a reprogrammed computer the GTP's limiter is upped to 255. NO I'm NOT saying I can go 255, but that's what the limiter is. The fastest I've been up to was 152, and had some motor left. I'm still on stock Eagle RSA's (rated to 130) so I try not to run that fast ('til the rims go on in spring ). ------------------ John - 2000 Black Grand Prix GTX Mods - who me?? no just a leaky exhaust...

WELL IM SORRY TO TRY TO TELL YOU ALL HOW IT IS, IT DOESNT REALLY MATTER HOW FAST YOU CAN GO, WHAT MATTERS IS HOW FAST YOU CAN GET THERE. THAT FREEWAY RACING CHITT IS FOR IDIOTS, SURE IT SEEMS FUN BUT U R NOT REALLY PROVING ANYTHING BESIDES STUPIDITY, ONE WRONG MOVE AND NOT ONLY R U GONE BUT MAYBE SOMEONES FAMILY MEMBER OR EVEN YOUR OWN!!! SURE I HAVE A 2000 CONTOUR SVT AND I LOVE TO DRIVE FAST TOO, BUT OUR CARS SHOULD B USED FOR RED LIGHT RACING, YOU KNOW QUARTER MILE STUFF...... YOU REALLY SHOULDNT TRY TO PROVE YOUR SELF OR YOUR CAR BY DRIVING STUPIDLY, WE ALL KNOW HOW COOL OUR CARS R!!! SO JUST DRIVE THEM LET PEOPLE SEE YOU IN THEM AND LOOK OOOHHH SO GOOD IN THEM , AFTER ALL, OUR CARS ARENT THE FASTEST CARS OUT THERE.......SO WHAT R U TRYIN TO PROVE,,I MYSELF AND ONE TO BLAME FOR THIS STUPIDITY , BUT I THOUGHT I'D JUST THROW IN SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT....

Freeway racing isn't about top speed, it's about top end acceleration. If I run a modded 'vette with a limiter of say 140, and my limiter is 150, I'm still not gonna win that race unless we start at about 120. 65-130+ is the most fun way to race IMO.

Your point is well noted Mr SVT. However, the cars we have were design for high speed 'touring. If I wanted a vehicle for stop-light racing or drag racing, I sure wouldn't have bought the contour SVT. If I still were to buy a ford for this, I would have bought one of the other two SVT badged vehicles. Also, I believe it to be more dangerous racing on city streets rather than highways. What are you gonna do when you're going 60 in a 35 and some old lady pulls out in front of you going 20. Or, some idiot crosses the street even though the cross walk is red?

Or after you pulled out of a parking garage at night with only your foglights on and after you have had a few beers..... LOL You will be going nowhere fast, after the dumbphuck cop pulls you over and makes you do a godzillion tests!!!!!!!! Sorry I had to throw that in there..... ------------------ 00' SVT Contour Mods? Yes More to come? Sooner than 1 would think..... ~Ca$h rulez everthing aroun mee~
