I've out of town for the past few weeks working at a decomissioned Air Force Base in Oscoda, Michigan. As luck would have it, I was leaving the job site and I noticed a handful of Z06s, WRXs, Honda S2000s, Miatas, F-Bodies, Stangs, etc rolling into the base. It turns out there is a HUGE SCCA event up here sponsored by the Tirerack. There's even a badass blue-green Supra TT up here that's currently featured in the last issue of SCC magazine. This is the first SCCA event I've ever seen and I'm pumped to get home and give it a shot.

Things I've noticed:

1) Nearly everyone is running slicks
2) FWD seem to be very competitve
3) The Mini Coopers seem to be damn good SCCA cars
4) Racing looks to be very hard on the tires
5) To be quick doesn't mean you have to have a lot of power. The difference between a Z06 and a well driven NA Imprezza is about 1-1.5 seconds.
