That's "filthy_mechanic" and he posted that on the Corral midwest board too. He drives a red cobra. I've never seen Mr. it's-not-silver-it's-Mineral-GRAY before. That video is pretty cool but I'd find a way to rig it in the cabin so I could track my input too. I mount mine over the back seat, I can watch my head to see how far I'm looking ahead, I can watch my steering, and I put the mike on the rear license plate so I can hear exactly what I'm doing with the throttle. I can judge how hard I'm braking by how far the passenger seat tilts forward LOL. And I can tell whether or not I'm understeering/oversteering by whether or not the scenery is moving sideways across the windshield. If the courseworkers are running, it's oversteer laugh

Wow everyone here seems to be really friendly. How many SVT people on this board belong to SVTOA? I met Bob from Olathe Ford and he invited me to the next SVTOA event. I guess they meet the 2nd Sunday of the month at Pizza Shoppe on Old Metcalf? What other benifits of joining SVTOA are there? Is it worth $40 a year? Thanks, Dave.

BTW: I saw your SVT Lightning last Sunday. Those things were awesome on the track. Lots of power.

Im gonna be a member as soon as my car get out of the Shop but then shes going up for sale. I think i have already got her sold to someone PhatSVT knows. But ill still be a SVTOA member cuase i have found my next car as long as shes still there when my car is fixed then sold.

I think its worth it. I was at one meeting and its pretty cool, ive tried to make the other ones but between work and this car i haven't been able to make it.

My TSWs are 17x7 and will look good(Ive done some cut and paste on my computer)
I also intend to add the razzi side skirts and the SVT rear bumper and a custom front end as well as Neon under lighting...thus the name GreenLantern. And your old exhaust is up for another tweak...new Magnaflow Mufflers 4" tips.

By the way anybody out there know where I can get an SVT rear bumper for less than $300?
Help!

I think we're all pretty friendly around here. smile
The majority of us SVT owners are in the SVTOA, or at least we attend. It's kind of still in its begining stages so theres not a lot right now, but the future looks bright! cool Bob is a really cool salesman, I stopped and talked with him the other day, he is responsible for all that we have and are to this point! Every other Sunday is at Pizza Shoppe, so this next meet is supposed to be there. Then August's will be at the Fuddrucker's on Noland Road in Indepenence. We usually caravan up there, so when we find out exact time and place, we can meet before hand and cruise! smile

Green Lantern, have you priced the SVT kit from Bill Jenkins? I've never seen the Razzi kit in person, but have never heard that many good things about it. Bill gives us a hell of a good deal on parts and is really cool to talk to. You are going to be hard pressed to find a SVT Rear bumper for less than $300. SInce it is the whole assembly, its going to run anywhere between $600-800 for a new one. You might be able to find one slightly scratched or some that woulg look good with minor repairs, just keep your eye on the classifieds!

I've out of town for the past few weeks working at a decomissioned Air Force Base in Oscoda, Michigan. As luck would have it, I was leaving the job site and I noticed a handful of Z06s, WRXs, Honda S2000s, Miatas, F-Bodies, Stangs, etc rolling into the base. It turns out there is a HUGE SCCA event up here sponsored by the Tirerack. There's even a badass blue-green Supra TT up here that's currently featured in the last issue of SCC magazine. This is the first SCCA event I've ever seen and I'm pumped to get home and give it a shot.

Things I've noticed:

1) Nearly everyone is running slicks
2) FWD seem to be very competitve
3) The Mini Coopers seem to be damn good SCCA cars
4) Racing looks to be very hard on the tires
5) To be quick doesn't mean you have to have a lot of power. The difference between a Z06 and a well driven NA Imprezza is about 1-1.5 seconds.
